JKS Shock Conversion Kits

JKS Shock Conversions provide a smart solution to the problem many Jeep® owners face when shopping for front shock absorbers that utilize the OE upper stud mount. By converting the factory upper shock mounts to accept common eye ring or hourglass style bushings, the selection of compatible shock absorbers greatly increases.

Our Shock Conversion bolts to the original shock mount using a massive 7/8" threaded stud and locking nut for an extremely secure fit. It also relocates the upper shock mount 1.10" lower in the wheel opening with a much stronger double-shear mounting configuration. A traditional 1/2" shock mounting bolt is used to accommodate any EB1 type bushing with 5/8" OD sleeve and allows easy access for convenient removal and installation.

You too can benefit from this product. Finding stud mount style shocks for lifts over 4-inches on your vehicles can be difficult and choices are limited. The 9602 kit will allow you to use a traditional bushing style shock instead of the stud style creating numerous shock options. All of our shock pages here either list or have links to pages with the manufacturers shock specifications/dimensions to allow you to locate the right replacement.

We have found that aftermarket shocks used for 1994-2004 solid front axle Ford F-250/F-350 4WD trucks with a 2"-2.5" lift use the same rear replacement shocks as a 1983-1997 Ford Ranger with a 6-inch suspension kit and the F-250/F-350 replacement front shock is the same dimensions as the front shocks on the Ford Ranger 6-inch suspension kit but uses an upper bushing instead of a stud mount.

In a nut shell, if you order shocks for a 99-04 F-250/F-350 4x4 with a 2"-2.5" lift, you're going to basically get the same shocks used for a Ford Ranger with a 6" suspension but with an upper bushing on the front shocks instead of a stem.
